BAARS started in 2015 when Guillaume, an industrial designer, and Marco, an optician with a love for the mountains, met and bonded over a shared vision. They couldn’t find eyewear that truly fit their lifestyle and convictions: a functional, yet elegant and sustainable object.
So they created it themselves.
We draw from traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technologies — like 3D-printed titanium — to create products that meet the highest standards of performance, durability, and design.
We create products that are not only beautiful, but also purposeful and intuitive to use. It’s about meeting real needs through deliberate design, where every detail serves a function without compromising on aesthetics.

It’s with this mindset that we patented the first magnetic hinge, DynaOne and created APEX, the world’s first fully 3D-printed titanium hinge.
Through our close relationships with our partners, we ensure steadfast commitment to both the environment and the people we collaborate with, from concept to execution.
Our frames are crafted and assembled by hand in our workshop.
To make them, we use acetate from Mazzucchelli, the world’s leading producer of premium cellulose acetate, a renewable, non-petroleum material derived from cotton linters or wood pulp.
