Primarily designed as a functional and elegant sunglasses frame, Travel Air then also showed it could work well as an optical frame. Its clear design consists of deliberately geometric and marked sequences on the end pieces, lenses and bridge which also help convey its utilitarian aspect. A frame we could easily imagine on the nose of aeroplane pilots …thus giving it its name. It is machined from 8mm Italian acetate from the famous Mazzucchelli house
